About Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology department of Viswabharathi Medical college is well established with excellent equipment headed by good number of surgeries like cateract surgery, exusion of ptery given conjunctival autograft, repair of lid tear, suturing of corneal tear, dauyocystectomy etc are conducted in separate ophthalmology operation theatre. Minor procedures like incision & curettage of chalazion, drainage of lid abscers, reval of foreign bodies etc are done. Procedures like syringing, tonometry, epilation, nylocaine sensitivity test, retinoscopy fundscopy etc; are conducted on regular basis.

Modern equipment like slit lamp, automated refractometer with keratometer, direct ophthalmoscope, indirect ophthalmoscope, A-scan etc; are present.

Books and journals Ophthalmology are available in the Central Library.
